Dear colleagues,

我們邀請您為「衝突、正義與解殖:亞際社會批判研究計劃」撰寫稿
People have always moved from one location to another for survival, for better opportunities, and for many other reasons. Some of the key drivers of human migration – historically and presently – encompass political, economic, and social factors. The struggle of the Rohingyas, for example, is caused by some form or another of all these factors. Likewise, the transnational migration crisis in Europe that resulted from the Russo-Ukrainian war has been driven by all said factors. Since the start of the conflict in February 2022, millions of Ukrainians have fled the country while millions more remain internally displaced. The conflict has also sparked a migration predicament in Russia, as hundreds of thousands flee the country to evade compulsory military service.
人們總是為了生存、為了更好的機會、以及其他許多原因,
These are just a few examples that highlight the ongoing migration plight. There are many other stories that do not make the headlines. What other factors drive migration? What are the experiences of people in motion at various points along their journey? How do policies in the sending and receiving countries shape migrants’ experiences? What role does identity play in migration? These are just some of the questions that we at the CJD project are proposing to stimulate further thinking on the issue of migration.
