The feminism scholarship have made the conclusion that because Nationalist Sovereign had dominated overwhelmingly the construction process of gender identities of women through the authoritative discourses since 1949 to 1972, there were neither autonomic women ’s movement nor alternative discourses on women in Taiwan until the suggestion of "New Feminism" in 1972 by Lui Shiu-Lang. This article uses the conception and the methodology of discourse analysis to analyze the authoritative discourses on women since 1949 to 1973 and argue that they are not always singular, stable, homogeneous , and unified, but there must be some unintended effects which would be helpful for the suggestion of alternative discourses.
