Thanks to Wang’s great performance in MLB, and the highly report and sportscast by the media in Taiwan, a“phenomenon of Chien-Ming Wang” had raised in Taiwan society. Maybe because of the resentment at the main stream media, or the new fans emerging for Wang, there was a totally different spectacle in a BBS in Taiwan, PTT. The research tries to understand the struggle in this phenomenon from Bourdieu’s perspective of “field.”The research has found that the fans which have no opportunity to speak for themselves in the main stream media, have been the “dominant group”in the cultural field, and the new fans emerging for Wang are weak in this field. But there is a change in this field, these new fans have overthrown the “professional”ways to watch baseball games. The original dominant group begin to fight back through language to protect their orthodoxy status.
