The research aims to probe on the age group of 20~29, the so called strawberry generation, in Taiwan about their national identity about R.O.C. (Taiwan). The national identity is represented by the R.O.C. (Taiwan) national flag as well as the symbolic meanings of the colors of the national flag, Blue, White and Red respectively. Using the 104 Job Bank, the largest on-line job site in Taiwan, database as universe, the research subjects are were obtained through stratified random sampling. Surveys were conducted by email. The findings show that: Ninety-four percent of the respondents are identified with the Blue-White-and-Red flag as the sovereignty of R.O.C. (Taiwan). Regarding the color symbolic representation, 93% of the respondents agree that the color White represents Fraternity of Mankind; 92% agree that the color Blue represents Equality; and 86% of them agree that the color Red represents Freedom. Dependent analysis of variance (ANOVA) results show that gender, age, and length of education are the three demographic variables that will cause significant deviation. The results may provide a basis for objective and rational debates between the two major political parties regarding youth generation’s identity with existing national flag.
