With the globalization trend, more and more drama serials are distributed and broadcasted across markets. Taiwanese trendy drama “Meteor Garden”, which was based on a Japanese comic, created a stir in Asia back in 2001. It was subsequently re-produced in Japan four years later and also in 2009, a Korean version was produced, creating the next Korean wave across Asia. The reason why “Meteor Garden” could be adapted several times by different countries and became successful was because of the well-structured plot. Moreover, the main characters were lively and vivid, leaving deep impressions among audiences. The process of adapting by different countries must include selection and exclusion of some sub-plots and translation for the local audiences to accept the drama easier. The process of glocalization in the different versions can reduce culture discount, relate better to the lives of the local audience and hence enhance the viewing experience. After analyzing the Taiwanese and Korean versions, the Taiwanese version was found to be more faithful to the original. It only changed the name and little portions of the original plot, as well as adding local social phenomenon. It not only projected Taiwanese youths’ attitude towards friendship and love, but also expressed the expectation of the youth from the Taiwan society. On the other hand, many changes were made to the Korean version where the local culture, lifestyle and the traditional conception of family were incorporated.
