Nowadays the culture diversity has attached the importance internationally, yet the music tendency in Taiwan still follows the business logic only urging for profit. The music type which can be displayed in mass media is monotonous and homogeneous. Even though the indie music bands in Taiwan are getting prosperous, there is no performing space in mass media. However, we discover that such countries as England, Swedish, and Australia all successfully take public media as the promoter for music diversity development. Therefore, we want to find out whether and how the pubic media in Taiwan can enrich the musical diversity. The study focuses on both the structure and the content of public media in Taiwan, examining its music programs, and taking the success of BBC as an example for the possible improvement.
