Based on media ecology theories, this study conducts an empirical research to study the possibility of television being replaced by Internet. According to media ecology theories, media is not a neutral channel which merely transmits message but affects nothing. Different media bears specific bias. On the basis of this opinion, this article interprets how television and Internet construct two different media environments:collective space and individual space. Television can relieve the impact of Internet by transforming from information acquiring and entertainment media to the media which builds social space. The empirical research indicates that, audiences prefer to get information and fun via Internet rather than television. Internet has raised the trend to replace television. However,television still stands some chances.
