The dualistic critique on the local press ecology of pan-blue against pan-green is a popular perspective. Nevertheless, such perspective is reductive and too superficial while facing the emerging development between the Taiwan Straits, such as Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement(ECFA). Especially, the Premier of China, Wen Jiao-Bao ’s proposal of profit-sharing(Rang-Li) initiates worse political controversy in Taiwan, between pan-blue and pan-green parties and newspapers. This study seriously treats ECFA as a historical turning point for the future of Taiwan. It applies Bakhtin ’s dialogism, including heteroglossia, multiaccentuality, and dialogical relations, as a theorectical framework for interpretation of the local press performance towards ECFA ’s profit-sharing issue. Besides, Fairclough ’s three dimensional model of critical discourse analysis is also a sophisticated model for further analysis for journalistic discourses on ECFA. The proposal intends to represent the ECFA as a arena of ideological struggling in terms of dialoglical recontextualization and imaginations for the future of Taiwan between local pan-blue and pan-green press.
