The Study of Gender Role in Contemporary Popular Music Industry -A Case Study on Female Fans of South Korean Pop Music Group of SNSD
The research is a female Audience Reception Analysis, observations from the perspective of female fans Korean pop female group - body image SNSD presented, understanding music videos, popular music culture and the relationship between gender discourses. Trying to piece together how female audience interpreted the image of gender value which singers build in the music video, and whether it is related to the discover of women consciousness. In this study, participant observation and Semi-structured Interviews, supported by the literature review. Finally, South Korea used to be the labeled as "male chauvinism" the stereotype, the study also looked like his fans in the country to increase popular music in addition to cultural identity, but will they be able to reverse the value of the country ’s cultural gender stereotypes.
