The blossom of social media has changed online self-disclosure and the development of interpersonal relationships, while related researches are still sparse. This study focuses on the social media of Facebook and PTT to investigate the effects of social anxiety and perceived anonymity of media on users’ disinhibition and the depth of self-disclosure. According to the result, with different perceived anonymity of media, users manifest various levels of disinhibition and diverge on depth of self-disclosure. Nevertheless, the social anxiety has no impact on neither of the aforementioned behaviors. The study further discusses the effects of media properties on user behaviors, the relationship between sociability and social anxiety, the relationship between disinhibition and self-disclosure, as well as the new pattern for interpersonal relationship development.
