LBS becomes popular recently, and Facebook provides the service of “check-in” which let users to tag themselves and then to share on the “wall.” Location awareness, a crucial factor for using check-in service, is a motivation for users to generating narratives on describing their location. Users may choose ideal places to tag themselves, and it is the reflection of self-presentation. Results support all the hypotheses. The higher location awareness one owns, the higher frequencies of check-in and the higher degree of self-presentation he has. If others response to check-in messages, the degree of self-presentation and location awareness would increase.
