The present study aims to explore whether the strategy of message design to report EID (emerging infectious diseases), such as SARS and H1N1, may affect the cognition and attitudes of readers. Furthermore, this research tries to suggest a more appropriate reporting strategy for reporting EID, which at first couldn’t be controlled certainly. The study is an experimental research using a 3(descriptive strategy)× 2 (service information)factorial design. The result show that message with service information could increase readers cognition of EID. Hence, this research suggest that practitioners should provide service information when report EID.
