The goal of this study was to clarify the relationship between murder news and the Third-Person Effect by path analysis. We use several factors, such as social distance, the audience involvement and the negative degree that audience feel about those messages, observing whether audience will affect by the love crime cases on the news, then bring out the third-person effect. In addition, we also predict that whether the reaction of audience can support for restrictions on media message, and take those restriction activities into account.
The results show that those audience generally consider that love crime news would definitely have pessimistic impacts toward teenagers. In addition, the third-person effect perception cannot back up activities for supporting restrictions on media message. But the involvement, the negative perception degree of the love crime news, and social distance have a great influence on behavioral dimensions.
