As a kind of institutionalized and daily means of communication, the rural
cultural hall makes the abstract nation state become the "visible community"
for rural villagers. With the methods of In-depth interviews and discourse
analysis, this study embarks from the perspective of the folk collective memory,
comparing the original intention of the official political discourse of the
culture hall with the collective memory of the audience in the culture hall. The
purpose of this study is to explore the influence of political discourse of Chinese
characteristics on the construction of folk collective memory.
