The Art Yard at Dadaocheng, Taipei was adopted as a case study. We performed an
in-depth study into the founder of this organisation, who is a former television
reporter, the origin of her social entrepreneurial intention, and the advantages
and disadvantages of her journalistic background in initiating a social enterprise.
We carried out an investigation of the influential factors of social entrepreneurial
intention. The results revealed that the founder exhibits prominent communication
and coordination capabilities due to her professional journalistic experience. In
addition, the founder successfully applied her passionate attitude, deep sense of
social responsibility, and self-regulatory work efficiency to this entrepreneurial
activity. Accordingly, her keen entrepreneurial alertness was derived from an inservice
education and was inspired through action. The social capitals accumulated
during her career in journalism did not become the main source of support when
establishing this social enterprise.
