以媒介與潛意識的關係為焦點,以「靈魂的建構與驅逐」為書寫主軸, 本文對 Friedrich A. Kittler 的媒介理論進行梳理,梳理的重點在於說明從 1800 論述網絡到 1900 論述網絡之媒介技術、論述與制度的歷史性與結構性 轉型這一 Kittler 媒介理論的核心部份。本文以為,相較於過往的媒介理論 家, Kittler 對媒介與潛意識關係的相關論述不但更具系統性與歷史縱深,更 為這一層關係覆蓋上了一層「離奇」的氛圍。Kittler 的筆下的媒介是既可以 建構也可以肢解靈魂的鬼魅化物質,持續地糾纏著人類主體的潛意識與感官 系統,通過其著作中建構的離奇媒介史, Kittler 有力地啟動了我們對「媒 介」內含之力量的意識。

 Abstract By focusing on the relation between the media and the unconscious, and organizing the writing through the axis of “the construction and expulsion of the Soul,” this article aims at constituting itself as an analytical introduction and interpretation of Friedrich A. Kittler’s media theory. This interpretative introduction had put emphasis on the theoretical core of Kittler’s theory, namely, the historical and structural transformation of media technologies, discourses and institutions expressed and embodied in the transition from discourse network 1800 to discourse network 1900. The author argued that the uniqueness of Kittler’s discussions concerning the relation between media and unconscious resulted from their “uncanny” aura. In Kittler’s theoretical discourse, media are ghostly matters that constantly entangle with human unconscious and sensory system through which the Soul can be constructed and dismembered. And it is through this construction of the uncanny history of media that Kittler’s work had powerfully awakened our awareness towards the inner power of the media.
