Food safety news is important when communicating crisis information. Based on the "Poison Egg Incident" in 2017, this study explores the impact of food safety news with the two main elements, “reliable news sources” and “crisis response advice”, on readers’ news credibility, news understanding, and crisis-responded behaviors, through questionnaire. This study finds that news with either reliable news sources or crisis response advice will enhance the news credibility of readers. However, it may not significantly affect the public’s news understanding. Moreover, when giving food safety news with full-information, the perception of news credibility and understanding will increase individuals’ crisis response behaviors and take further actions.
