The purpose of this study is to explore the purpose of individual performance and the use intention of different personality traits and maps of Chinese and Taiwanese college students on LINE and WeChat platforms respectively.
The results show that WeChat has a positive effect on the intention of using the map when the purpose of the performance is "getting care", "loving sharing" and "expressing emotions". But LINE only has a positive effect on the latter two. In addition, line has a positive correlation with map use intention when the personality traits are extroversion and neuroticism, while WeChat is only related to the former.
In the comparative analysis of the use of LINE and WeChat by Chinese and Taiwanese college students, it is found that there is a significant difference between them when the purpose of performance is "love sharing" and "self presentation".
