This study attempts to explore, from the perspective of " Sociolinguistics" and "Communication Theory of Identity ", whether Taiwanese drama viewing behavior, language ability, and identity gaps affect audience' language attitudes. This article uses Hecht's “Communication Theory of Identity” to understand the relationship between identity construction and communication. Taking the identity gap as the main research axis, it explores whether the personal-performance identity gap and the personal-relational identity gap have intermediaries, drama viewing behaviors and Taiwanese attitudes. In this study, 260 valid samples were obtained through online questionnaire survey. The results of the study show that Taiwanese drama viewing behavior significantly predicts individual Taiwanese attitudes; in addition, for native Taiwanese readers, language ability and Taiwanese drama viewing behavior predict the individual-performance and personal-relationship gaps. It also directly affects personal Taiwanese attitudes. Keywords: sociology of language, identity communication theory, national language, language.
