 隨著網路和科技發達,青少年使用網路與社群媒體的狀況也越發引起學者關注。國外已有不少學者開始關注社群媒體使用會造成資訊遺漏恐懼症(Fear of missing out, FoMO)的問題,然而在台灣相關研究並算不普遍,且更少從傳播領域以及媒體素養角度來探討此問題。因此本研究聚焦在了解高中生的媒體使用習慣、社群媒體使 用動機,以及媒體素養能力,並分析這些項目與資訊遺漏恐懼症的關聯性。研究結果發現幾項可能與資訊遺漏恐懼症有較高關聯性的媒體相關因素:首先,越是網路重度使用者,其資訊遺漏恐懼症就越高;其次,出於社交目的社群媒體使用者,其資訊遺漏恐懼症也越高;最後,媒體素養研究結果顯示,媒體素養能力越高者,資 訊遺漏恐懼症越高,然而此關聯性的具體影響因素,尚待未來進一步探討。

英文摘要

 With the development of the Internet and technology, the situation of teenagers using the Internet and social media has attracted more and more attention from scholars. Many foreign scholars have begun to pay attention to the problem of fear of missing out (FoMO) caused by the use of social media. However, relevant studies in Taiwan is not common, and there are fewer researchers focusing on this issue from the viewpoint of communication academia in general, and media literacy in particular. Therefore, this study intends to explore social media usage habits, social media use motivation, as well as media literacy competency of high school students, and analyzes the relationship between these variables and FoMO. The results found out several factors that may lead to higher FoMO. First, the more heavily users of the Internet, the higher the FoMO; second, those who use social media for social purposes, the higher the FoMO. Finally, the results of the media literacy research show that the higher the media literacy competency, the higher the FoMO. However, the more specific or influencing factors resulting in the relationship need to be further investigated in the future.
