Although the field of health communication began to be recognized as a specialized subject only about 30 years ago, the theoretical and practical researches in this field have gained substantial achievements, which also lead to some new trends of development. Based on the brief review of the historical development of health communication and in view of its present situation, this article focuses on some new features of health communication in China, including its renewal of the content, the method, the technology and the specialization. Besides, the article also probes into the trend of development of the health communication, as well as some difficult ethical problems, and analyzes the opportunities and challenges of the health communication faced with China in the 21st century.
