The "Anti-Chen Shui-bian Movement" initiated by Shih Ming-te had made a big noise for a while in September last year. Media paid highly attention to this issue at that time. This study focuses on the news frames presented in Taiwan and China ’s newspapers-United Daily News, The Liberty Times, and People ’s Daily Overseas Edition-about this movement. This research uses content analysis and discourse analysis to analyze the news frames of these three newspapers and the social realities they wanted to construct. The results shows that United Daily News and People ’s Daily Overseas Edition presented similar news frames, but not totally the same. And the news frames of The Liberty Times was very different from the other two ones. This kind of result can reflect the positions and ideologies of these three newspapers.
