老年人口急速增加的結果,使學術界逐年重視老人研究,然而目前國內傳播領域尚未有老人形象之再現研究。2006 年中國時報推出《熟年周報》,內容以老年生活指引為主,其性質與新聞版面有所區別,促成此研究動機。

新聞版面與《熟年周報》因新聞類型及版面性質與目的不同,在報導內容中,除老人性別比例相近,其他則有明顯差異。《熟年周報》對於老人形象呈現較多樣化,與新聞版面相較則多使用正面形象報導老人,但也間接反映社會對於「年老」已預存某些想像。
英文摘要
Academic circles has pay more attention to the Gerontolgy in recent years because the old age ’s population increasing rapidly. China Times published "Prime time" in 2006, which is focus on the aged ’s daily life guide. Because of the different characters between "Prime time" page and the news one that promote the motive of this study.

In the reports, "what is said" category is quiet different for the dissimilar type and purpose of "Prime time" page and the news one, except the rate of sex distinction. Although the elderly have varied
images in "Prime time" page, it expresses indirectly that the society has some imagination of the old in advance.
