It ’s a history that the Japanese cultures landed in Taiwan and set a trend, which caused a very common phenomenon of "Japanese-craze". A widely discussed subject is that, how the Japanese cultures influenced in Taiwan. This study discussed about the connectivity between "Japanese Trendy Dramas" and the Taiwanese adolescents ’ identity with Japanese cultures, by the quantitative methods.
According to the amount of watching time, years, number of series, and the anxiety to watch the Japanese Trendy Dramas, we examined the teenagers ’ experiential degree. We also checked if these data relates to the Identity with Japanese cultures. Depending on the levels of identifying with Japanese cultures, we classified the phenomenon into: discussing, tiny impersonating, serious impersonating, and finally identifying oneself as a Japanese.
This essay took senior high school students as the sample, because of near ages, high similarity, and matching the psychological definition of teenagers. According to our study, about 60% of senior high school students had watched the Japanese Trendy Dramas, mostly since junior high school, one or two days per week. About 15% of the students anxiously wanted to watch the Japanese dramas. Therefore we ensured that the Japanese Trendy Dramas were highly attractive to the teenagers in Taiwan.
The analyzed data for teenagers showed the correlation between the experiential degree and the culturally Identity with Japanese, but not highly correlated. The only high correlated item is in “anxiety to watch the Japanese Trendy Dramas”. The key to identify the Japanese cultures is not the elapsed time for watching, but the desire.
