網路做為一種新傳播科技，為人類社會帶來那些改變？本研究以交通大學為例，引用德國學者哈伯瑪斯的公共領域與溝通行動理論，來檢視網路中公共事務討論中的語言使用及溝通共識的成形。另以網路媒介的限制及「傳播即文化」等觀點闡釋網路溝通的意涵。目的是探究一個虛擬社區裡的溝通活動有那些障礙？產生什麼問題？希望能對網路溝通所帶來的契機和隱憂提出一些思考。

This study tries to apply Jurgen Habermas ’ concepts of public sphere and theory of communication action to analyze the content of BBS at National Chiao Tung University. It describes the characteristic and limitation of network communication. Then to interpret it ’s implication further from James Carey ’ viewpoints of communication as culture. The purpose is to find out the problems and obstacles in network communication.
