The current newspaper industry is faced with the severe paradox between business function and journalistic professionalism. Many professionals worry about that the latter will be coverd with the nature of business and newspaper will be completely treated as"commodity". From organization theories,the traditional newspaper industry is vertically integrated and the structuring of organization is mechine bureaucracy. Such situation could be limited by old product technology and try to reduce enormus transaction costs.However, this traditional newspaper organization seem not to suitable for journalistic professionalism.
This essay would boldly suggest that the structuring of newspaper organization should be changed now. We should transact with each product element by networks in market ,not the vertically integrated organization, and propose the new organization structure of newspaper industry. This provide a chance to prevent journalistic professionalism from the undue interefence of business operation.
