From classic film theory of André Bazin in the 1940s to neo-formalism of David Bordwell in the 80s, contemporary digital discourses invokes previous metaphysical debates in cinema and explore an alternative vision of film aesthetics. This paper wishes to demonstrate discursive thinking of major figures in this field from classic film theory to today ’s digital theory.
