Previous researches has found that heavy viewer of certain television program were more likely to identify with language, culture value showed in the program. The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between television viewing and viewers ’ affiliation with television program among adolescents in Taipei. The subjects are selected from a stratified sample method. Results of survey from a sample of 1108 indicate that the accumulation of television viewing experience has affected viewers ’ perception toward violence and sexuality showed in variety shows. The result shows that heavy viewing has resulted in a subtle affiliation with certain genre. In other words, they are more likely to accept frame of reference appeared in the show. It is found that the more a viewer watching variety show the more likely he or she will give higher evaluation. Third grade students of junior high schools are more likely to accommodate with violence and sexuality showed in the program than second or first grade students. In addition, kids from single family watch more television program than kids from non-single family. This result is also accordance with the hypothesis the more you watch, the more likely you will affiliate with the program. The hypothesis is also confirmed for the variables of gender and age.
