隨著傳播技術進一步融入到社會互動之中,我們有必要進一步了解人際傳播由此產生的新特徵。基於媒介化傳播(mediated communication)中“共處”和“連接性共處”(co-presence or connected presence) 的概念,本文旨在研究在中國的文化環境下, 媒介化傳播是如何建立和儲存一系列連接性關係的。以及媒介化條件下的共處與面對面互動之間的差異。本研究通過文化話語分析(cultural discourse analysis)的方法,發現媒介化連接下的共處帶有具體的文化特徵, 其中包括在集體主義文化下,人們傾向於利用媒介來探索浪漫關係進一步發展的可能性和線索,或者利用較為隱性的表情符號來表達感情。情侶使用媒介主要是為了分享信息和傳遞簡單的問候
While communication technologies integrate into social interaction, it is important to understand the transformation of the patterns in interpersonal communication. Based on the concept of mediated communication and co-presence or connected presence, this study aims to examine the process that how people in China use mediated communications to establish the repertoire of connected relationship. And what’s the difference between connected presence and face-to-face interaction. By using cultural discourse analysis, this study finds some cultural specific uses of media to fulfill the goal of co-presence by users, including detecting clues for telling love in romantic relationship by media, and using emoji presentation to convey explicit and implicit information and emotion in a less individualistic culture. The gratifications for media use are to share information and deliver greetings.
