恐怖主義存在已久，並因 ISIL 再度引發關注。恐怖主義可能因為媒體報導影響局勢，以致媒體已成為恐怖主義的核心。本論文以國內極少關注的恐怖主義與媒體為討論主軸，以身處中東的半島電視台為討論焦點，分別以文獻檢視與深度訪談法，討論半島電視台如何報導 911 與恐怖份子，並述及因恐怖主義引發的伊斯蘭恐慌，同時檢視美國與半島間的緊張關係。本論文認為，恐怖主義本身就是中東的一部分，半島等阿拉伯記者不但要報導恐怖主義，還要面對恐怖主義的威脅。本論文發現恐怖主義與媒體報導間，確實存在無法避免的弔詭，新聞界應進一步思考，有關恐怖主義報導中，新聞媒體該有的角色與報導責任。

Terrorism is a serious phenomena and catch the eyes again because of the threat of ISIL. Terrorism is communicated by news media as well as an act of violence within general people. The news media become the role of terrorism. This paper focuses on terrorism and the fear of Islam. Based on literature and in-depth interviewing, this research tries to restore the fact of reporting on 911 and terrorism from Al Jazeera and survey the intense relationship with U.S.. This paper argues terrorism is a paradox happened in Middle East, Arab journalists need to report on terrorism and face the dander from terrorism. This paper also suggests to rethink the principles of reporting on terrorism in order to enhance the responsibility of the press.
