有關 Media Ecology 中文譯名引發的學術論戰，令中國傳播學界爭奪理論本土化正當性的路線之爭白熱化。本土化問題歸根究柢在於東西文化差異。強調文化差異，由法國哲學家德布雷開創的「媒介學」近年被引入中國，因德布雷個人傳奇色彩和馬克思主義者的實踐關懷，受到學界關注。媒介學研究技術與文化的關係，提出「媒介域」史觀，架構出一套連結宏觀與微觀的媒介研究方法，本文認為這或有助於理論本土化的建構。

Following the academic controversy over the Chinese translation of Media Ecology, the battle of theory indigenization has been intensified in China. Under the background, as an alternative approach to communication studies, Mediology established by French philosopher Régis Debray from the later 1980s was been introduced to China and attracted intellectual attention in the field. Mediology focuses on the interactions between technology and culture, and concerns long-time transmission more than short-time communication. Inspired by the Chinese classic I Ching (The Book of Changes), the author creates a Tai Chi Model to help understand the emergent academic paradigm. The paper argues that Mediology method may contribute to the indigenization researches.
