In recent years, the news of celebrities diagnosed with depression or have committed suicide because of depression can be seen in newspapers or any other form of media so much, so that this illness has become a faze. This research uses content analysis to examine news coverage on depression in celebrities from Apple Daily, China Times and United Daily News. The result is that articles on the subject has accumulated, focusing on the stories of celebrities. Yet, apart from a small amount of personal accounts, the contents of the articles has little to do with the illness itself. Depression has thus become only an excuse for celebrities to get on the front page.
