Since the deregulation of magazine industry on March 1979, more and more magazines have been published in Taiwan. The number of magazine publication had been increasing until 2002. But it is increasing after 2003, so do the amount of advertising market. Theory of multiple intelligences has been applied to education field. From the function of media’s socialization, do mass media through symbol of texts and pictures provide the vision of multiple intelligences for modern people? This research will discuss the following questions: 1. How do issues of representative news magazines have been changed in the past 15 years? 2. From the aspect of multiple intelligences, what vision do these news magazines have transmitted in the past 15 years? Three news magazines including the local version of Common Wealth Monthly, regional version of Newsweek, international version of Times from 1990 to 2004 are analyzed by content analysis. According to the result, news magazine of local version pays a lot of attention on logic/mathematic intelligence, while these of regional and international versions focus on interpersonal intelligence.
