This essay defines Derrida ’s "monstrosity" as the discontinuous change, an issue examined in this paper with a chaos perspective, from which the writer makes reflections on the so-called modern and postmodern themes, particularly those pertaining to the postmodern "paralogy" and "deconstruction". The key point of this essay summarizes as follows: Both theory / structure and paralogy / deconstruction are paralleled dynamics in the process of evolution or change. None of them will approach the truth or discover solutions in a better way than the other.
